This was a busy weekend with two very diverse weddings in two different Perth suburbs. One was in the backyard of a couple’s home. They had been together for many years after a chance introduction and blended seven children. They were all involved in a traditional handfasting where each child tied a coloured ribbon around their parents’ hands. Dad had his finger tattooed in place of a wedding ring and each child received a Commemorative Wedding Certificate.
The second wedding took place in the beautiful surrounds of Brookmount Park, Ellenbrook. With grey clouds clearing momentarily we breathed a sigh of relief as the rains held off. The fountains splashing nearby, the couple’s children walked slowly down the boardwalk preceding a very elegant bride. Family and friends enthusiastically joined in as Ludwe and Ancila united in marriage.
