Founded in 1998, Sittella is a privately owned winery, named after a small Australian bird, the Sittella, which abounds in the nearby tree-lined Swan River. The winery nestles among the vines on a gently winding road near the upper reaches of the Swan River, a jewel of the historic Swan Valley. In this tranquil setting with valley and vineyard views from the verandah, visitors are invited to enjoy fine food and award winning wines. It is also a perfect venue for weddings.

I was privileged to perform the wedding of Denise and Jon on 28th December 2014 at Sitella. This is a couple that have been together for many years. They contacted me to perform a secret wedding at Sitella whilst they were still in the United Kingdom. They were visiting their daughter in Perth for the Christmas Holidays and wanted to surprise family and friends with their marriage. All the paperwork was done long-distance, with a few emails once they arrived in Perth. By the time they arrived, they had told their adult daughter who was then to be included in the wedding party. I finally got to meet the couple the day before the service when we ran through it and finalised our plans.

The wedding today, in the gazebo, brought a few close friends and their family together for an intimate service. Although the grounds are the perfect place for a wedding, Sitella is also renowned for the stunning food that they provide.
