For Michelle and Mark’s wedding, Brookleigh proved to be a beautiful choice.

A few years ago Michelle started a new job… Little did she know, that she was to meet the man she was going to marry! It took a  while for her to get Mark to accept her invitations as he had a rule that he wouldn’t mix work and his personal life together. Finally, her persistence, beauty and smile won him over, and over the next two years their love for each other grew deeper and deeper. Mark proposed to his beautiful bride to be at one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Grand Canyon, and I guess you can say the rest is history.

I met the couple in November 2014 when they asked me to be their Celebrant. Over the next few months we designed a service together that included  a candle lighting and presentation of gifts to their flower girls and page boys. They married at Stewarts at Brookleigh, in the beautiful Swan Valley.

They had originally planned to marry under the gazebo, but at the last minute had to move the wedding into The Stables as rain threatened to wash the wedding out. It proved to be a fortuitous decision as family and friends celebrated the marriage under cover and stayed dry in a stunning venue. Just proves the importance of having a “plan B” for your venue just in case the weather proves to be unkind. They went on to celebrate the evening. The photos from Erin McKenzie Creative Photographer proved to be breath taking, and I believe Erin pulled them out of the reception to take one more shot in the rain that is just magic.

Michelle and Mark have kindly sent me a few of the photos and I am pleased to be able to share them. Thanks to Erin for her amazing photographic creativity! and Thanks especially to Michelle and Mark for their kinds words of thanks.
